According to a recent article in Maclean’s magazine, Barrie is number 5 for most cultured cities in Canada! Wow! In comparison to Toronto, Montreal, London and many other seemingly cultured cities, Barrie comes out as number five! Of course there is a lot more artistic events in cities like Toronto and Montreal, but in terms of percentages and ratios, more of the public here in Barrie contribute much more to the arts than many may think. According to Maclean’s statistics, 47.7% of Barrie’s population contributes money to museums, and 48.9% spend money on the arts, in general. Impressive!
