Hi there!
My name is Brandie and I am a Visual Artist, Writer and Art Advocate
I have loved Art ever since I can remember. When I was growing up, I loved to draw anime characters (inspired by the japanimation series Sailor Moon) and faces of people, to be specific. As the years went on and I began school, I always looked forward to our art classes (on Fridays of course) where we could experiment with all different mediums of art, from paper mache to pastel to multi-medium projects. It was always a challenge I was glad to take on when we could learn new forms of art to explore.
I remember also taking art classes after school at the local rec center, where it often focused on drawing the human body, faces, which is what I had always loved from the start of my artistic journey.
High School brought on more interesting and new tasks for me in this subject. Every year we had the option to take Art as a course, and every year I did. I was never a huge fan of math but always loved to write and basically involve myself in anything that allowed some form of creative release. As many in their teenage years are, I was not a big fan of school but never missed an art class! Today, at 21 years old, I still have many of the projects I made during high school displayed somewhere important to me.
After school is where my real journey began. I never ended up going to post secondary school, as I started a business in social media marketing and never looked back. This journey still continues today, with art just as relevant to my life. I experienced much with photography, modelling, multi-medium art projects and painting, while also helping with a gallery start-up which never fully worked out, but the experience was priceless.
Today, I started this website to display my work and journey as an artist, as I do believe it is possible to ‘live the dream’ and do what I love to do. I was born and raised in Canada, and now reside in Europe and travel often, as you will see in my photography on the website. I leave this short bio here as an open book, as my journey has not ended and maybe has only begun. I appreciate all comments and visits to my site, and if any fellow artists would like to collaborate or have work showcased on the site, please do not be afraid to ask. Please see the Contact page for inquiry.
To the successes in life, and what it means to each and all,
B.B
