Artist’s Statement

This art form has taken me through an unimaginable six year, meaningful adventure and introduced me to an array of impressionable people and experiences. Sculpting wood simply compels me to create and unveil what is hidden deeply within and, often, it is just the need of a piece of wood large enough, to create what has been compelled from outside. I absolutely love creating meaningful memorials dedicated to those who have passed as it becomes a “heart to heart” relationship with the commissioner(s). I also love to create “Out of my Mind Abstracts” where there is no limit to what can transpire. I strive to create art that moves and makes people think.

I was born in Golden, British Columbia, Canada and at seven years of age, my family moved to Malta, following my father’s employment in the Middle East. The experience of other cultures and the rich art and history of Malta left me with an indelible imprint. The return to Canada and settling into uninspiring jobs led to an ever-present internal nagging, compelling me to accomplish something more meaningful and creative by putting my heart into it. Not until 2003 did I take the leap into a new life by creating my first sculpture “Synaptic Twist”. I had found my calling!

I would love to be given the privilege to create an art walk in your “described area” that can be enjoyed by all walks of life. I would like to mix abstract and many forms of life from around the planet, using large scale wood sculptures. These sculptures would be in the form of large upright types of approximately ten feet tall to ease the transportation, installation and maintenance tasks. These could be mixed with, possible sculpted benches, plaques, chairs etc. These pieces would be sculpted at my studio (off-site) with daily updates, to my website to document the progression of the process for all interested parties viewing each creation, coming to life. Each large scale upright sculpture would be fitted unto a concrete base with a securing device so they cannot be tipped or removed and to insure the longevity of the sculpture.

I have worked closely with community groups, schools, large corporations and city design engineers to conceive/formulate concepts, approve the structural integrity and safety to the general public and make this type of endeavor a reality. From past experience, I have worked with all stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams, leading to successful outcomes for difficult projects.

I have included, in each of the six submittals, on compact disc, a complete art tour, tree trunk tour and the requested ten digital images with the relative index and press release articles.

Thank You,

Robbin Wenzoski

The following website portrays my art and the development of it, learned from experience. My ability spans from fine to chainsaw sculpture. Each piece is a step by step journey.

Abderrahmane Doukkane, a young photographer who starts and who promises!
The “meaning” is impossible to measure and classify, but it can be expressed in photography. Abderrahmane Doukkane found in water and childhood inspiration and, through his works, sought to convey different values.

Walking through the rivers and the faces of children, the photographer can find a variety of topics, sometimes unusual and lots of light and color.

People and water …

Challange: Doukkane Abderrahmane Photography

Water is everywhere, we even have it.Tiny droplet of mist in the vastness of the oceans, it is life. All the more reason for Abderrahmane Doukkane tries to tame.

Water can not only become a market value. It is and must remain our common heritage of mankind.

With its images Abderrahmane Doukkane talent shows with his commitment and his vision of man.

The challenges and issues of water for him and for us, a global priority of development, like those of education.

The world of the rich and the surplus can not forget the shortage and poverty.

Abderrahmane Doukkane the child …

Challange: Doukkane Abderrahmane Photography

His photographs show the faces of children who have a strong personality emphasizing mature adult. The strong personality from the eyes is partly driven by the fact that the subject is assigned an adult role in society that it occupies. The faces that appear on prints show a dual adult-child, with a maturity in the eyes capita juvenile body. The features of the body are those of a child while the light emphasizes a personality forged in difficult living conditions.

I was raised in upstate, New York. I’ve also lived in Jacksonville, Florida for a few years. I’ve been involved in the arts since as long as I can remember. I started out drawing on my bookcovers in school. In 9th grade I was prescribed “Adderall”(a medication to treat A.D.H.D) and became very interested in “trippy”, abstract forms of art. Over the years I have found myself interested in many different areas of art (computer graphics, photography, etc.) I am a big fan of Salvador Dali.

An addiction and alchoholism stripped me of my ambition to do anything with my artistic abilities, for several years. Today I am clean, sober and painting everyday. I am working toward building a carreer in computer graphics. Art is my passion. Music and Art are my passions. I can’t sing and I couldn’t hold a beat if my life depended on it, so here I am.

I have since made over 30 paintings. The canvas sizes vary from 9″x11″ to 3′x5′ and still creating more paintings as I go.

Is an amateur photographer that grew up in Barrie, Ontario. He is currently living in downtown Toronto where he can find his creative and artistic edge that the city helps to provide. Attending George Brown College in the heart of the city Zach is fascinated with the amazing history and visual appealing architecture the downtown core provides. Zach is always looking to expand his mind and his lens, so keep an eye out for this up and coming photographer. Prints are available.

This is the first photo in a series from one of my favourite collections of Toronto city shots. It is taken nearly standing in Lake Ontario at the Red Path sugar factory. The building looked like it hadn’t been used in quite some time so I didn’t think that anyone would mind if I took a personal tour. This photo wasn’t originally one of my favourites but my love for the picture came mostly post-production.

Nature and existence its self always amaze me, and so most of my art work is based on just finding a natural flow, and remembering my ideas of existence. Once one thing exists its opposite must also exist. Nothing and everything, black and white, ‘good’ and ‘evil’… This painting is also based on the idea of a more rapid and quickly flowing world, where everything is always vibrant and changing like a river. When I keep these ideas in mind, it helps me open up a wide range of color, light and dark, while maintaining balance and flow.

One day I hope there might be a trigger of some kind that truly breaks the barriers between us and our surroundings, revealing the true oneness of nature. Then we will be like this painting. Don’t think so? Well an interesting fact to note would be that the only thing stopping this from happening to you right now, is a small part of your brain that prevents you from feeling this exact oneness. This part of your brain can actually be disabled by a stroke, which would then allow you to drift through your body, and realize your surroundings as extensions of yourself. If you still don’t believe it, check out the book ‘My Stroke of Insight’ by Jill Bolte Taylor

Here, I have shown you some of my old pieces in my first post, to give you an Idea what I had done prior to working with my mentor Ian. Now, I would like to show some of the art I had done while working in studio 113 with Ian.

LoVe Is a HaNd GrEnaDe

LoVe iS a Punp AcTiOn sHot gUn

LoVe Is A haNd GuN

The Pieces titled ‘Edlon’ is an expression of solitude; it is capturing the essence of how some one feels sexually, emotionally, outside of their habitat and spiritually. I chose to have the women naked to show the fragile aspects of her form. I chose to use a fully abstract background to express the disconnection of them and the world around them.
The pieces entitled, ‘Landscapes PlaCes to BlOw uP’, is a series designed to illustrate how humanities greed has started to become its own destruction. I have chosen landscapes as the focus more so then the destruction of the environments in hopes to show what it is we are going to loosing. I incorporate a human figure in each landscape that’s been covered and or washed out in order to express the symbiotic relationship we have with the world around us. Humans are intricately interconnected to the Earth thus the destruction of the planet will inevitably lead to the destruction of our species. There is also the use of graphic elements in each landscape symbolizing destruction through a black textured void of darkness. The chosen colors are demonstrating the darkness that is gradually creeping in and taking over the world around us. I hope to show all of them in a gallery setting in the future.
