Abderrahmane Doukkane, a young photographer who starts and who promises!
The “meaning” is impossible to measure and classify, but it can be expressed in photography. Abderrahmane Doukkane found in water and childhood inspiration and, through his works, sought to convey different values.

Walking through the rivers and the faces of children, the photographer can find a variety of topics, sometimes unusual and lots of light and color.

People and water …

Challange: Doukkane Abderrahmane Photography

Water is everywhere, we even have it.Tiny droplet of mist in the vastness of the oceans, it is life. All the more reason for Abderrahmane Doukkane tries to tame.

Water can not only become a market value. It is and must remain our common heritage of mankind.

With its images Abderrahmane Doukkane talent shows with his commitment and his vision of man.

The challenges and issues of water for him and for us, a global priority of development, like those of education.

The world of the rich and the surplus can not forget the shortage and poverty.

Abderrahmane Doukkane the child …

Challange: Doukkane Abderrahmane Photography

His photographs show the faces of children who have a strong personality emphasizing mature adult. The strong personality from the eyes is partly driven by the fact that the subject is assigned an adult role in society that it occupies. The faces that appear on prints show a dual adult-child, with a maturity in the eyes capita juvenile body. The features of the body are those of a child while the light emphasizes a personality forged in difficult living conditions.

This is the first photo in a series from one of my favourite collections of Toronto city shots. It is taken nearly standing in Lake Ontario at the Red Path sugar factory. The building looked like it hadn’t been used in quite some time so I didn’t think that anyone would mind if I took a personal tour. This photo wasn’t originally one of my favourites but my love for the picture came mostly post-production.

This taxidermy(art of preparing and preserving the skins of animals and of stuffing and mounting them in lifelike form) -style moose head is carved out of white pine: approximately 36 inches wide, 31 inches tall and stands out from the wall 23 inches. It is then epoxied and painted with a finishing coat to protect the carving from the sun’s ultra violet rays. Perfect for someone who likes the cottage look and animals in their house or cottage, without killing an animal to do so.

I carved a similar carving for my brother a few years ago. This time I decided to try and carve this one as fast as I possibly could with a chainsaw. I would say 97% chainsaw carved, I had to use other tools to get the heart shaped pupils and in his nostrils. It was a good learning experience for control and as well as fun!

This is the introduction to a new section of Artistic-Tendency.com. Here you will start to see an ongoing artists process in the making of carvings, techniques involved and new pieces by Barrie-based carver Jeff Taylor. Expect great things and a new bio on this merging artist. For the first interview, click here.

Introduction to Adventure Number One: Garden Sculpture in Bolton, ON

This was an interesting and very fun carving; the customers told me they like spirit faces, green man faces, flowers and birds. At first I was going to carve a hawk out of the one forking branches flying by a nest, but we decided against it and the customers told me to just continue the theme and get creative. The first day I carved part of the lower portion of the tree with leaf and spirit faces, followed by the first of three sunflowers and vines.

The second and third day was beautiful with not a cloud in the sky, I started with a woman face covered with leafs and five flowers. I filmed it in intervals for the first half of the carving then after a coffee break I forgot to turn the camera back on to film me finishing the face. I then moved on to a womens face where we got the idea from a fairy candle holder that was given to the customer from a close friend. When carving the other two sunflowers I really used the natural bulges and knots in the tree for direction and flow. Weaving the vines and leafs around the tree really gave it character and brought out the beautiful deep wood grain; they loved the raw natural look of the carving. Adding the tree frog proved to be a challenge because of the angles I had to carve it on, but it was well worth it to see how happy she was when it was finished!
